- We are sorry to report seven deaths today. They were a man and a woman in their 40s, a woman in her 50s, a woman in her 70s, a woman in her 80s and two women over age 89.
- Late Thursday afternoon, the Western States Scientific Review Workgroup announced that the Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective for children 5 years of age and up. We know many parents have eagerly been awaiting this news. Shasta County HHSA, local pharmacies and clinics are all gearing up to provide vaccine to this age group and expect to be ready to go late next week. We will share more information on www.ShastaReady.org and our social media once we learn more about local availability.
- Sports, art, and music help children grow and thrive. Shasta County residents age 18 and older who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for financial assistance with after-school childcare or extracurricular activities.
