Current Situation:
- Due to a statewide error in California’s disease registry database, Shasta County does not have cases available to report today. Those numbers will be included in the March 2 Daily Update.
- In California, masks are no longer required for unvaccinated individuals. They are still strongly recommended for all people in most indoor settings, especially in areas with high transmission, like Shasta County. After March 11, 2022, the universal masking requirement for K-12 school and childcare settings will also end. Masks are still required for everyone in high-transmission settings like public transit, emergency shelters, healthcare, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities. For more information, visit the California Department of Public Health’s website.
