Jason Barnhart

Captain Jason Barnhart

Captain Jason Barnhart began his career in 1995 with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy assigned to the Greenville and Chester Lake Almanor areas. In 1999 Jason was hired as a deputy sheriff with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office moving back to where he was raised. He was assigned to the main jail, detention annex then moved to the patrol division working both north and south county stations. His collateral assignments included Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Marijuana Eradication Team and gang deputy. In 2005 Jason was selected as a bomb technician and attended the Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville Alabama. Jason is the team leader for the bomb squad and continues to serve on the team. In 2006 he promoted to sergeant and was assigned to the main jail and patrol divisions. He was the supervisor at both patrol operations, covering county patrol, and the City of Shasta Lake station. Jason was the Field Training Officer Coordinator and supervisor for the following units; S.A.G.E. (Shasta Anti-Gang Enforcement), S.A.F.E (Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement) and the Sheriff’s Office AB109 team. He was honored as the 2014 Sergeant Of The Year. In 2016 he was promoted to lieutenant and in January 2018 was promoted to Captain, overseeing the Service Division.  


Evonne Hancock
Program Manager, Services

In 2002, Evonne Hancock began her career with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office in the Accounting Unit, working through the ranks to Senior Account Clerk. She was promoted to Program Manager of the Services Division in October 2007. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Records Unit and the Crime Analysis Unit as well as coordination of all Sheriff’s Office recognition programs. Evonne is the Information Technology liaison to the County IT Department and coordinates the communication technology for the Sheriff’s Office. Her law enforcement background includes working at the Probation Office. Evonne has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
