In response to the Camp Fire in Butte County, the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency is able to provide WIC services, including replacement vouchers for benefits that were lost or damaged, to current participants who are displaced from the evacuated area. Those who might be eligible and would like to apply for WIC may also inquire at any Shasta County WIC office.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
Camp Fire survivors can also submit requests for CalFresh replacement benefits at HHSA’s regional offices. They’ll be faxed to Butte County by HHSA staff. Information about regional office locations is available here: https://www.co.shasta.ca.us/index/hhsa_index/Wheretofindus.aspx
