Even as Shasta County is poised to loosen some coronavirus-related restrictions in order to ease the region’s health and economic crisis, local medical leaders say opening the county comes with risks.

“People coming into our community is probably where some of our biggest vulnerabilities are,” Shasta County Health Officer Karen Ramstrom told the Shasta County Board of Supervisors during its meeting on Tuesday.
