Shasta County’s low vaccination rate concerns health officials as covid cases rise. 09/24/2021

Published September 28, 2021

COVID-19 cases in Shasta County have been trending up for about a month, which concerns public health officials and caregivers as the area’s vaccination rate lags the rest of the state amid the Delta variant surge.

Shasta County is among about two-thirds of all counties in the United States where the level of community transmission is high, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID Data Tracker.
