Shasta County’s case rate numbers up, but county still remains in red tier 04/28/2021

Published April 29, 2021

Shasta County's case rate is at purple tier levels but because the county’s positivity rate is at orange levels, it’s keeping the county in the red tier for now.

Shasta’s positivity rate is just under 4% and the case rate is around 10 per 100,000 residents.

“Fortunately, our test positivity is still in the orange tier range,” said Robin Schurig, the Public Health Branch Director. “At 3.9% up a little from 3.1% last week, so we will be staying in the red tier for now.”
