Shasta County covid: 84 new cases 10/06/2020

Published October 8, 2020

Another 84 Shasta County residents tested positive for the coronavirus Monday, bringing the county's total to 1,242 since the start of the pandemic.

The county has reported more cases in the past month than all of the cases reported from March to Sept. 8.

Because of a recent spike in cases, the county is heading into the state's "red/substantial" risk tier in its reopening blueprint. Staying in that tier means restaurants, churches and other certain types of businesses, like gyms and shopping centers in the county will have to change their operations, especially around indoor capacity.
