Shasta County breaks covid-19 ICU record, see increase in children cases 09/01/2021

25% of new cases reported Wednesday in Shasta County are between the ages of 5 and 17, according to Shasta County Health and Human Services.

SCHHS said the county broke its ICU admission with 26 admissions. This tops its previous record set on Aug. 23 and matched on Aug. 30 at 23 people were in the ICU.

There were 216 new cases reported on Wednesday and 87 are hospitalized.

There has been a total of 15,730 cases in Shasta County and 254 deaths.
