Pivotal phone call helps Shasta County remain in red tier 10/26/2020

Published October 30, 2020

Shasta County came within a few hours of being placed in the Purple Tier of the state's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

Technically, the switch to purple would have come on midnight, October 23, but about 8 p.m. that night, California Health & Human Services Secretary, Dr. Mark Ghaly, called to say Shasta could stay in the less restrictive Red Tier.
