Covid-19: Shasta County still in red tier as case numbers rise

Published June 1, 2021

As of Tuesday, Shasta remains one of eight California counties still in the red tier of the state's reopening plan.

That's after both test positivity and daily case rates went up.

State public health reported updates to counties' statuses on Tuesday afternoon.

Over the past week, Shasta County's average daily case rate rose this week to 8.2 daily cases per 100,000 residents from eight daily cases the previous week.
