Covid-19 live updates: What we know Thursday in Shasta County 07-09-2020

Another person has died and eight more have tested positive for coronavirus in Shasta County, health officials confirmed Wednesday evening.

The latest person, a man in his 80s, brings the COVID-19 death toll in the county to six. The man was the second coronavirus fatality so far this week. A woman in her 70s died on Monday.

There have now been 171 confirmed cases of the virus locally.
