Covid-19 in Shasta County: Unvaccinated account for most coronavirus hospitalizations, deaths 08/10/2021

Shasta County is in the middle of a resurgence of coronavirus infections, driven by low vaccination rates and more virulent strains.

The vast majority of hospitalizations and deaths since late April are among the unvaccinated, according to county health officials.

The daily number of confirmed new cases is averaging about 40 in August compared to four a month ago.
