Coronavirus live updates: What we know Wednesday in Shasta County 07-08-2020

While Shasta County reported that a fifth patient died from the coronavirus on Monday, only a handful of new cases have been reported so far this week.

The fifth COVID-19 victim was a woman in her 70s, according to the Shasta County Health & Human Services Agency. County officials declined to give more details about her and it wasn't immediately clear when she contracted the virus.
