Coronavirus live updates for the week of Aug. 17: County reports 20 new cases, 1 death over weekend 08-17-2020

Shasta County health officials say a coronavirus patient has died and confirmed 20 new cases of the virus, both over the weekend.

A man in his 80s died as a result of the coronavirus, the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency announced Monday afternoon. It was the 11th coronavirus fatality in Shasta County since January.
