Joseph Hendrix, Chief Investigator

Chief District Attorney Investigator Joseph Hendrix is charged with managing the 15 full time staff who work in the Bureau of Investigations.  The bureau currently is currently comprised of 12 sworn police officers and four professional staff.  The Investigators in the Bureau are a collection of law enforcement professionals with diverse experience and backgrounds. The Bureau of Investigation serves a vital role in the criminal justice process and significantly contributes to the high success that our office has consistently demonstrated in the prosecution of criminal cases.  Chief Investigator Joe Hendrix reports directly to District Attorney Stephanie A. Bridgett who has overall responsibility for Bureau operations and resource allocation.

The District Attorney is authorized by the California Constitution to both investigate and prosecute civil and criminal crimes.  The Bureau of Investigation conducts independent investigations at the direction of the District Attorney and provides investigation and trial support for the prosecutorial functions of the Office of the District Attorney.
