As a precautionary measure, in effort to prevent the increase of COVID-19 in Shasta County, effective Monday, January 10, 2022 at 8:00 a.m., Shasta County Child Support Services' lobby will be closed and limited services will be offered to the public, until further notice. Our services will continue as outlined below:

  • Questions related to your Child Support Case. At this time, case workers will continue to provide regular services and may be reached by phone or email. Our call center is operational, and customers may continue to call in to reach their case worker. In-person business will be conducted by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call (866) 901-3212 or email

  • Making Child Support Payments. While the lobby doors are closed, the TouchPay Kiosk will be accessible by appointment only. Please see the accompanying flyer which lists alternative ways to make child support payments.

  • Receiving Child Support Payments. There are currently no changes to the California State Disbursement Unit services regarding disbursement of child support payments.

  • Documents Related to Child Support Cases. Child support customers may continue to receive documentation and case managers may request documents related to child support cases. Postage-aid return envelopes will be provided when return documentation is requested. Documents may also be returned by email, or placed in the Document Drop-Box located in front of the building.

  • Serving Legal Documents on DCSS. We will accept service by mail, fax, email at, or by personal delivery to the Document Drop-Box located in front of the building.

We ask that the public observe the following guidelines:

  • Masks are required to enter our lobby.

  • No children will be permitted in the building at this time.

  • All business will be conducted by appointment only - no walk-ins permitted.

  • Social distancing will be observed by employees and customers.

Welcome to the Shasta County Department of Child Support Services' website. Our goal is to provide you, the customer, with information and service in a fast, fair, and friendly manner using the resources at our disposal and within the parameters of the California Family Law.

If you are a parent of a child, you know that you have a moral and legal responsibility to provide for your child, not only physically and emotionally, but also financially to the extent of your ability to do so. A major part of the Child Support Services' mission is to ensure that every parent involved in a child support case in Shasta County is participating in the financial support of his or her child(ren). Court orders for child support are calculated pursuant to the California Child Support guideline established by the legislature. It is important to the child(ren), as well as the parents, to establish and enforce a child support order that is fair to the noncustodial parent (payor) as well as the custodial parent (payee).

When you visit our office or are requested to provide information by telephone or mail, we can better serve you if you provide us with complete, accurate information about yourself and the other parent of your child(ren). Working together we can help ensure that today's children are provided with the parental support to grow into tomorrow's citizens and leaders.
