For more information on how to protect yourself and your family from flu, visit the Fight the Flu page.
Flu vaccine is recommended for all Shasta County residents six months of age and older, including those who are pregnant. Visit your health care provider or one of the many retail locations that offer the vaccine, including drug stores and grocery stores. Many of these locations accept private insurance and Medi-Cal/Medicare for vaccinations, often at no cost, and some provide discounts on other merchandise when you get your flu shot there.
Appointments are now being taken for immunizations at Public Health's main office on Breslauer Way. Call 225-5591 or 1-800-971-1999.
There will also be a drive-through clinic at the Shasta District Fairgrounds in Anderson on October 8 from 10 am - 1 pm.
Flu shots are $11. Cash, check, Medi-Cal and Medicare Part B are accepted (no private insurance).
