Mayra Morris has been with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office since 1989. She currently supervises all activities of the Animal Regulation Unit. She has a bachelor of science degree in Agriculture/Animal Science from CSU Chico. Mayra has supervised the Animal Care and Enforcement Unit for the past seven years.

Due to successful placement of adoptable animals through the use of various websites, the shelter has significantly increased animal adoption rates. The shelter also has increased the amount of animals being placed through the breed rescue organizations, foster parents and volunteers.
