ACCEPTED
This transfer station accepts general municipal waste only. Liquid wastes, special wastes, and hazardous wastes are prohibited. Some special wastes such as tires and white good are permitted storage and diversion.
CAPACITY 25 tons per day.
PLANNED FACILITY
EXPANSIONS
A medium-term diversion objective (1996-2000) of the Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) recommends that drop-off containers for yard waste be maintained at the transfer station.
EXISTING DIVERSION
RATE
Compartmentalized drop-off bins are provided at the transfer station for recyclable materials such as glass, aluminum, tin, and newspaper. Scrap iron is also collected and recycled. Approximately 11.4% (14.75 tons) of the waste received at the transfer station is currently diverted.
