Old Shasta Transfer Station

Shasta County - Middle Creek Road approximately one-half mile north of State Route 299 near the town of Old Shasta(refer to Figure 1).

WASTE ACCEPTED
This transfer station accepts general municipal waste only. Liquid wastes, special wastes, and hazardous wastes are prohibited.
CAPACITY 22 tons per day.
PLANNED
FACILITY EXPANSIONS
A medium-term diversion objective (1996-2000) of the Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) recommends that drop-off containers for yard waste be maintained at the transfer station.
EXISTING DIVERSION
RATE
Compartmentalized drop-off bins are provided at the transfer station for recyclable materials such as glass, aluminum, tin and newspaper. Scrap metal is also recovered at the site. Approximately 1.9% (1.5 tons) of the waste received at the transfer station is currently diverted.
