WASTE ACCEPTED
This transfer station accepts general municipal waste only. Liquid wastes, special wastes, and hazardous wastes are prohibited. White goods are permitted for storage and diversion by the operator.
CAPACITY 15 tons per day.
PLANNED FACILITY
EXPANSIONS
A medium-term diversion objective (1996-2000) of the Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) recommends that drop-off containers for yard waste be maintained at the transfer station. The greenwaste could be hauled to he proposed Burney Transfer Station tub grinder for processing and distribution.

DIVERSION RATE
Compartmentalized drop-off bins are provided at the transfer station for recyclable materials such as glass, aluminum, tin, and newspaper. Scrap iron, tires and batteries are also salvaged. Approximately 7% (126 tons) of the waste received at the transfer station is currently diverted, 124 tons of which is scrap iron.
