This transfer station accepts general municipal waste only. Liquid wastes, special wastes, and hazardous wastes are prohibited. White goods are permitted for storage and diversion by the operator. |

| PLANNED FACILITY EXPANSIONS |
A medium-term diversion objective (1996-2000) of the Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) recommends that drop-off containers for yard waste be maintained at the transfer station. The greenwaste could be hauled to he proposed Burney Transfer Station tub grinder for processing and distribution. |
| EXISTING DIVERSION RATE |
Compartmentalized drop-off bins are provided at the transfer station for recyclable materials such as glass, aluminum, tin, and newspaper. Scrap iron, tires and batteries are also salvaged. Approximately 7% (126 tons) of the waste received at the transfer station is currently diverted, 124 tons of which is scrap iron. |
