Nominate someone for an Excellence in Public Health Award today!

The Shasta County Public Health Advisory Board has established an annual Excellence in Public Health Awards program. This program provides awards to those community members who have gone the extra mile to promote an area of public health.

Public Health can be thought of as "organized community efforts that prevent disease and promote health." This is an opportunity to recognize community members who improve the public's health and quality of life, and celebrate their achievements, qualities and courage. These public health heroes can be from the general public, youth, providers, non-profit organizations, businesses, elected officials or public entity staff. Nominees should be working to improve conditions for the health and well-being of groups or entire communities rather than treating individuals who are already sick.

Awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.

For questions about the nominations process, contact Candace McHatton or call (530) 245-6863.
