The CalWORKs program helps families achieve self-sufficiency through employment services and temporary cash assistance.
Food Stamps
The Food Stamp program provides electronic benefits, which can be used to buy food at most grocery stores, for eligible low-income households.
WIC
Helps pregnant women, mothers with infants and young children eat well, be active and stay healthy.
Assistance with medical costs
Medi-Cal, Long Term Care, County Medical Assistance Program (CMSP) may be available to eligible households.
Healthy Families
Low-cost insurance program for uninsured children 18 and younger who don't quality for Medi-Cal.
General Assistance for Adults (GA)
The General Assistance program provides short-term financial assistance for eligible low-income adult residents of Shasta County without children who are unemployed or determined unable to work.
Family Assistance through Contracted Employment Services
ShastaFACES - Family Assistance through Contracted Employment Services - is a subsidized work program designed to put un-employed or under-employed parents back to work while helping local business owners stabilize or grow their business.
