Marriage Ceremony
A civil marriage ceremony may be performed in the office of the County Clerk. You're encouraged to bring your own witness. The ceremony is performed in our conference room, if available. You must make an appointment ahead of time by calling (530) 225-5730. Appointments are available Wednesday's and Friday's between the hours of 9:00-11:30 AM and 1:30-4:00 PM.
Marriage License
A marriage license may be obtained by appearing in person in the office of the County Clerk at 1643 Market Street in Downtown Redding between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Couples are no longer required to have blood tests. Please call (530) 225-5730 should you have further questions regarding marriage licenses.
When couples arrive they will be asked to complete an application. The process takes from 20 to 30 minutes. A current picture ID is required for each party. If a dissolution of marriage has taken place for either party, the full date of dissolution is required on the application.
If either party is under 18 years of age, a court order must be obtained prior to issuance of the license by contacting Court Services at (530) 225-5707.
