David Kehoe was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1998 and is a former Mayor and city council member for the City of Redding. David is a life-long resident of Redding, having graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic Elementary School and Shasta High School. He graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Public Administration and Political Science. He has served as a Management Analyst and Program Director with the United States Forest Service.
David has a long history of community involvement and has served on many local and area-wide agencies and boards, highlighted by the honor of being Redding's Citizen of the Year in 1989. He was elected to the Redding City Council in 1992 and twice served as Mayor, in 1995/96 and in 1998/99. He brings to the Board of Supervisors his fundamental philosophy of sound fiscal and management accountability, reliable public services, responsible growth, increased economic development, responsive leadership, and decision making that is trustworthy.
Mr. Kehoe serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and is the Board liaison to Health and Human Services. He is a member of the Shasta County Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board, and he currently represents the County on the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) and Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), as well as several other Board appointments:
